The sports car segment was once one of the fastest-growing sublevels of the auto industry. The thrill of driving a sports car was one of the most enticing aspects of ownership. Drivers loved driving up and down twisty roads or screaming down a straightaway on a hot summer night. Cars like the Corvette or the Mazda Miata come to mind. The simplicity of the design and exhilarating performance<\/a> have made both of these vehicles iconic.<\/p>\n But there were other sports cars that weren’t quite so lucky. Many of these sports cars were destined for the junkyard early on. Whether it was from a lack of quality or merely paltry performance, these sports cars are downright awful<\/a>. We looked back at some of the worst sports cars on the roadways. Despite being popular, these cars were not appealing in any sense of the word, and much of it had to do with the lackluster designs.<\/p>\n
