35 Most Iconic Movie Cars From The ‘Fast and The Furious’

The ‘Fast and The Furious’ franchise has become one of the most lucrative movie franchises in the world. Amazingly, such a simple movie format centered around street racing has evolved into the juggernaut that it is today. The original movie was centered around custom tuner cars, as was the second. But in recent films, the movie has moved away from the films being centered around the tuner community.

Regardless, there have been countless cool cars featured in the franchise over time. The original movie showcased cars such as the Nissan Maxima, Mitsubishi Eclipse, and the red F-150 Lightning that Paul Walker drove in the opening scenes. The movie was pivotal in revitalizing the tuner scene here in the states. We looked at the 35 most iconic movie cars from ‘The Fast and The Furious’ franchise right here.

This car was introduced in ‘The Fast and The Furious Tokyo Drift’ as Han’s ride. It was a well-put-together car with one of the most beautiful wide-body kits you’ve ever seen. In every scene of the movie this car appeared in, it looked downright amazing (via Fandom).

This was a real car custom built exclusively for this film, and unfortunately, the car ends up being destroyed toward the end of the movie. The 1997 Mazda RX-7 Veilside was a true stunner in terms of beautiful performance and looks.

You can’t have a street racing movie without the Skyline GT-R R34, and there was no reason not to feature this car. The unique styling of the GT-R and its one-of-a-kind paint job made it stand out from the crowd (via Fandom).

This car was driven by Paul Walker in ‘2 Fast 2 Furious’ and was one of the first times an R-34 was shown in the franchise. Another unique thing about the car is that Paul Walker actually owned it in real life.

The infamous 1994 Toyota Supra MK IV was a pivotal vehicle in the original ‘Fast and The Furious’ movie. This was the car Paul Walker offered to Vin Diesel in the movie as an offering for destroying his vehicle earlier in the film (via Fandom).

The bright orange Supra famously raced a Ferrari and the unique design of the car was hard to miss. The real-life example of the car was sold at an auction years later and is still seen on the car show circuit.

This Eclipse was one of the first cars you ever saw in the first ‘Fast and The Furious’ movie. The car that was driven by Brian and entered in the first race scene is a prime example of a tuner car built right (via Fandom).

The Eclipse might be more iconic than any other car in the movie and has been repeatedly mimicked. There are very few cars that have made as much a splash in the movie industry as the Eclipse did in the original ‘Fast and The Furious’ movie.

One of the earliest RX-7 variations seen in the movie was the 1993 Mazda RX-7. This was the car driven by Vin Diesel in the opening scene of the movie. The car was stashed away in a parking garage as he took off with Paul Walker (via Fandom).

The design of this RX-7 is by far one of the most beautiful vehicles in the movie. Of course, this generation of the RX-7 isn’t debatable when it comes to the sheer beauty of the vehicle. There aren’t many sports cars from this era, so the RX-7 stands out.

Another car featured in ‘The Fast and The Furious: Tokyo Drift,’ this is a prime example of how an Eclipse Evo should look. The unique design of the car stands out from the crowd thanks to the beautiful red paint job (via Fandom).

This is the car Lucas Black learned how to drift in and was a pivotal vehicle to the movie’s story. Interestingly enough, the car was also sold in real life at auction later on and you can still see it on the car show circuit.

Although the Skyline is the car that gets all the attention of the tuner community, the 2001 Nissan Silvia S15 Spec-S is a special car in its own right. The model featured in this photo was the car driven in ‘Tokyo Drift’ by Lucas (via Ranker).

The Silvia is an understated car with a beautiful body and a lot of potential for upgrading. You can’t go wrong with this car. In recent years, the value of the S-15 has begun to skyrocket.

Who can forget the pink S2000 from ‘2 Fast 2 Furious?’ The car was certainly a standout. The S2000 itself is one of the most understated sports cars that came out over the last two decades. A Honda roadster is a serious recipe for fun and the S2000 delivered in almost every way possible (via Ranker).

Having a hot pink paint job helped further and the vinyl was a nice touch. The beauty of the car was only second to the massive upgrades it got for the movie. The alloy rims are also a nice touch and this car can still be seen around the car show circuits.

The Civic is one of the most popular compact cars of all time even to this day. The EJ1 was immensely popular in the early 2000s as a cheap means of transportation and it was also a hot tuner car (via Ranker).

At one point in time, this was one of the most stolen cars in America but has become a rarity nowadays. The unique thing about the EJ1 is that it shares a lot of its platform with the Acura Integra, so upgrades are plentiful.

Although ‘The Fast and The Furious’ franchise is largely focused on imports, there have been a few American muscle cars featured as well. The 1970 Dodge Charger R/T is black and beautiful, with a distinct blower sticking out of the hood (via Ranker).

This generation of the Charger was by far one of the most popular cars from the muscle car era. The elongated styling has made die-hard Mopar enthusiasts dream about owning this car for decades.

Every tuner wants to own an Impreza WRX STi, which is why the price tag of these cars is so high. The styling of the 2009 models is especially distinct and has become one of the most popular body styles (via Ranker).

The WRX STi is the car you want when you hit the track. The performance of the car always puts a smile on drivers’ faces. Coupled with the fact that the car has an abundance of modifications that you can do to it, it’s a great car overall.

Without modifications, a stock Porsche is a very exciting car to drive, and that bolds for just about every model. The Porsche 996 GT3 RS is a special beast because it offers a turbocharged engine and some of the most beautiful paint you’ve ever seen on a Porsche (via Ranker).

The model featured in ‘The Fast and The Furious’ movies was pretty much stock. But that doesn’t take away from the fact that this was an exciting car to drive, and there are very few like it.

The car featured in the first opening scenes of ‘Tokyo Drift’ is one of the most iconic cars on the road. The Monte Carlo was a massive success for General Motors and one of the longest-running nameplates of all time (via Ranker).

The 1970s models have been creeping up in value recently. Slap a brand new LSX engine into one of these, and you have a car that can compete with a Chevelle for thousands less.

Another car fabricated just for these movies was the Flip Car. Take a look at the metal tubing of the design, and you’d think this was something out of a Monster Garage episode (via Ranker).

This wasn’t just a car made for movies, though, as this performance is for real. The look and feel of the car is a knockout example of engineering done right, and you’ll still see this car on display from time to time.

There are dozens of rare one-off exotic sports cars in the world, and every so often we get to see one. The Lykan HyperSport is a beautiful exotic car built by a company in the United Arab Emirates (via Ranker).

It was designed with help from Italian engineers, which is why it has a lot of Ferrari flavoring. The car never went into mass production, and there are only a few examples still on the road today.

The F-150 SVT Lightning is one of the most iconic pickup trucks of the 1990s. The truck was featured in the first ‘Fast and The Furious’ movie as Brian drove for his job (via Ranker).

The F-150 Lightning was discontinued shortly after this movie became a hit, and the resale values for these trucks have continued to rise. When it comes to a tire-squealing good time, you can’t go wrong with the Lightning.

There are quite a few notable sports cars that have come out of Britain, but the Jensen Interceptor is the most notable. This was one of the first British sports cars to be featured in ‘The Fast and The Furious’ franchise (via Ranker).

The Jensen Interceptor featured in the movies was heavily modified, of course, with a lot of new styling. The noteworthy thing about the vehicle is that it is dubbed a “grand tourer” and has become notable in recent years.

When you hear the Ford Escort name, you automatically think of that cheap compact car from the 1990s that your teacher used to drive. But around the world, the Escort is a much more renowned name that had a fair amount of luck in the rally scene (via Motor Trend).

The Escort MK I is particularly renowned for its excellent performance and driving dynamics. When it comes to excellent engineering, Ford pulled out all the stops for this car, which is why it was featured in the movies.

There aren’t many cars that are the fastest in the world, but the 2010 Koenigsegg CCXR is one of them. Beyond the drop-dead gorgeous design of the car, it is also one of the most over-engineered vehicles on the road (via Motor Trend).

Even Jay Leno owns one of these and showcased it on his show. The 2010 Koenigsegg CCXR was largely a stock model and that’s alright. We don’t think the 2010 Koenigsegg CCXR has anything else to prove.

The original Corvette models are for more than just looking at, as the 1966 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport Sting Ray is a beautiful example of great engineering. The 1966 Corvette Grand Sport Sting Ray has also become one of the most coveted models on the road (via Motor Trend).

GM has introduced various renditions of the Sting Ray over the years, but the 1966 Grand Sport Sting Ray is the car that started it all. The model featured in ‘The Fast and The Furious’ was quite the showcase.

When Porsche released the Cayman, there were some reservations among the Porsche community. The traditional Porsche enthusiasts felt the company was drifting from its original purpose (via Motor Trend).

But here we are two decades later, and now we have the Porsche Cayman. The beautiful car was featured in the most recent ‘Fast and The Furious’ movies, and it is one of the fastest production models on the road.

You can’t have a ‘Fast and The Furious’ movie without a true Mopar muscle car, and the 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T is that car. The orange example shown here was featured in ‘2 Fast 2 Furious’ and showcases everything we love about this car (via Motor Trend).

Even in its stock form, the Dodge Challenger R/T was a beautiful car that offered great performance. The 1970 Challenger R/T is an example of what the movie franchise did right, with certain models included.

Naturally, if we’re talking about Mopar muscle cars, we also have to showcase some Chevrolet models from the movies. The 1969 Yenko Camaro SYC is another great muscle car featured in the franchise (via Motor Trend).

The unique look of the car and the one-of-a-kind styling have made it an iconic part of GM heritage. The 1969 Yenko Camaro SYC is a first-generation Camaro, and as such comes the prestige of the Camaro brand name.

This Mustang was one of the most unique aspects of ‘The Fast and The Furious’ franchise because in the movie it has a JDM engine swap. This Mustang is the car passed down to Lucas from his father (via Motor Trend).

You’ll seldom see one of these on the road in Tokyo, so it was a treat to see it in this movie. The car also drives well with the engine swap, and the actual car has been on display in multiple movie archives.

The Gran Torino Sport is one of the most underrated muscle cars from this era, but Ford did a great job with the car. The 1972 Ford Gran Torino Sport featured in ‘The Fast and The Furious’ franchise was a stellar example of engineering done right (via Motor Trend).

The 1972 Ford Gran Torino Sport featured in this movie was one of the most astonishing muscle cars that hit the market. The unique look of the Gran Torino made it a hidden gem in the muscle car world.

You can’t have a movie about fast cars and action without the Ford GT40, the beautiful supercar from Detroit. There have been multiple renditions of the Ford GT40 over the years, but this model is perhaps one of the most notable (via Motor Trend).

There was a short period when Ford sold this car to the public, and it has since become a collector’s item. The GT40 is a car designed to win races, so naturally driving is an exhilarating experience.

If the Ferrari FXX looks familiar, that’s because most of the car is based on the Ferrari Enzo. With that in mind, you probably will wonder how a car as rare as the Enzo ended up in a movie like ‘The Fast and The Furious’ (via Motor Trend).

Well, the Ferrari FXX was a knock-off car designed specifically for the movie. This car was a replica model and not a true Ferrari by any stretch of the imagination. Nevertheless, it’s still a cool Ferrari.

The Mopar-powered muscle cars from this era are some of the most iconic vehicles on the road. This is why the Charger Daytona is a notable muscle car that distinguishes muscle and performance (via Motor Trend).

The Charger Daytona featured in the movie had a beautiful cherry paint job. The customizations were kept to a minimum, which lent the car to have a unique look that’s hard to find today.

The second-generation Camaro was released at a strange time for the automotive brand. The 1973 Chevrolet Camaro RS-Z28 F-Bomb is a unique-looking muscle car featured in the movie series (via Motor Trend).

The F-Bomb paint job definitely stands out, but this car does more than just look good, it also performs well. This is probably the most underrated generation of the Camaro and the one that you should keep an eye out for.

Mopar was on a roll during the muscle car era, and the 1970 Plymouth Barracuda is another well-known muscle car. Just the sound of the tailpipes and the unique styling of the Barracuda make it a unique offering (via Motor Trend).

The Barracuda model featured in the Fast and The Furious movies was unique for having a one-of-a-kind paint job and various performance upgrades. There is no doubt that Vin Diesel’s taste went into the creation of this one.

Over the past couple of decades, the Lamborghini brand has made a name for itself with one-of-a-kind sports cars. The Murciélago LP640 was one of the most iconic sports cars of the last two decades (via Motor Trend).

The styling built on everything that the brand did right before, and took it to the next level. Even by today’s standards, the Murciélago LP640 is still a very attractive car. It’s no surprise that the directors saw it fit to put this car into the movie.

When it comes to supercars, there is no doubt that the McLaren brand is one of the most well-known. But the 2017 McLaren 720S certainly takes the cake when it comes to being the cream of the crop (via Motor Trend).

35: 1997 Mazda RX-7 Veilside
